CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of June 1, 2004, was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chair Martha Devine.

  1. INTRODUCTIONS AND PUBLIC COMMENT
  2. ANNOUNCEMENTS
  3. The next Steering Committee meeting will be on July 6th, 2004. Xandy presented to the Eureka City Council five model Natural Resource projects from other cities. On June 7, at the Adorni Center, the Humboldt Bay Stewards will be having a meeting on how to use the bay. Reclaim the Commons - Martha will be attending in San Francisco. Coop Board meeting June 15th @ the Arcata location regarding labeling of GMO-free products being sold at the CO-OP. Barbara Shults' Animal Advocate on KMUD (88.3 FM) 7-8 PM on the 2nd Thursday of every Month.

  4. PRIDE PARADE APPLICATION
  5. The Pride Parade is on June 15, 2004. Martha will be tabling for GMO's and is willing to join anyone else who volunteers.

  6. GPCA PLENARY
  7. Barbara Shults will be attending the Delegates Training in Sacramento and is still working on getting housing.

  8. COMMITTEE REPORTS
  9. Steering: The next General Assembly will be in Southern Humboldt (Garberville). Dee Brady's resignation was accepted on April 17th, 2004. Barbara doesn't plan on fundraising for GPHC until issues resolved. Barbara noted that Pay Pal ought to be implemented to the Website.New members need to be assigned to the Steering Committee.

    Green Genes: String Cheese Incident Concert, Sound Tribe Sector 5 will be opening July 16th in Benbow; Humboldt Green Genes (HGG) will be collecting funds by serving alcoholic beverages; Barbara is looking into a Fish Cookout with the Fisherman's Association. Signature Collections have been doing well due to volunteers.

    Media: Martha has been flooded with Media requests; Jim Ferguson has been assisting. Given increased media demands, more help is needed.

    Mediation: No progress to report.
