held at Lost Coast Brewery, Eureka on Tuesday, September 7, 2004

Meeting: 7:00-9:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of September 7, 2004, was called to order at 7:50 pm by Secretary Mike Cordova. (Because the Water Bldg. was locked, the meeting was relocated.)

  2. APPROVAL OF MEETING RECORD

    3. MOTION WAS MADE (Cordova/Douglas) to approve the meeting record of August 3, 2004, as submitted. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

  3. SPECIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT HUMBOLDT STATE UNIVERSITY

    4. MOTION WAS MADE (Douglas/Cordova) to delegate securing the meeting venue for October 3 and Stacker role to Dan, Facilitator to Charles, Record keeper to Mike, and Scribe to Barbara and to include on the agenda the Steering Committee vacancy, endorsements, recognition of Locals, HSU restrictions, a bylaws amendment proposal and the Ventura GPCA plenary.

  4. PEPPER SPRAY TRIAL TO START SEPTEMBER 8 IN SAN FRANCISCO

    5. MOTION WAS MADE (Shults/Douglas) to delegate the Media Committee to draft a support statement.

  5. ADA REQUIREMENTS

    6. MOTION WAS MADE (Allen/Cordova) to comply with all ADA requirements.

  6. TREASURER'S REPORT

    7. MOTION WAS MADE (Cordova/Allen) to elect Barbara as Treasurer.

    MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

    Charles requested an audit. Barbara indicated a current balance of $248.25.

  7. COMMITTEE REPORTS

    8. A. ELECTION - Charles noted that the committee will continue to submit endorsements and positions to listserve review before releasing.

    B. MEDIA - A Press Release was issued on the August GA. The next Press Release will include the notice for the October GA. Voter Guide is planned.

  8. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

    9. MOTION WAS MADE (Shults/Douglas) to delegate Barbara to supply each Officer with a PO Box key, Charles to take over the website and listserve, and Dan to get the GPCA web authorization changed.

  9. HSU RESTRICTIONS

    10. MOTION WAS MADE (Douglas/Shults) to commission Greg to challenge the HSU restrictions on petitioning on a pro bono basis.

  10. MEETUP.COM

    11. MOTION WAS MADE (Cordova/Shults) to authorize Mike to organize a GPHC Meetup.com group as a recruitment and organizational aid.
