The Green Party is not just a political party. It is the electoral arm of the growing movement for social, economic, and environmental justice. We are a values-based party that is supported and governed by our members—people like you.
Unlike other political parties, we do not solicit or accept corporate money. Elected Greens (and our party officers) are accountable to members, not to corporate donors. As corporate money threatens the integrity of the electoral process, the Green Party stands as an example of a party of principle. And it’s working!
The Green Party of California achieved significant results in 2006. Green Party member Gayle McLaughlin was elected Mayor in Richmond, and Greens won a total of 19 races in California during 2006. We now hold 50 elected offices across the state.
Here in Humboldt County, the following Greens currently serve as elected officials:

Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap, Humboldt Bay Water District
Darryl Cherney, Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare District
