2010 is a critical year, environmentally and politically. In this context, we, as Greens, have both the opportunity and the responsibility to take leadership roles in promoting real solutions.

Humboldt Greens are in the process of drafting a questionnaire that will go to all local candidates running in the 2010 elections. The results of this survey will be posted on the Voter Guide of our web site and go out in our newsletters.

We will finalize the questionnaire at our next meeting, March 10. What do YOU want from YOUR representatives? Bring your ideas and concerns to our next meeting, March 10.

For more information call Emma at 707 616-5703 or email her at emmabreacain@gmail.com.

Saturday, February 20
3:00-6:00 pm

Greenway Partners
1385 8th Street (8th & N)
Arcata

Democracy Unlimited (Campaign to Legalize Democracy Coalition Partner) sponsors an interactive community forum to facilitate Humboldt's response to the recent Citizens United decision. Over 60,000 Americans, horrified by what this Court ruling means, have come together to sign the petition at MoveToAmend.org - a call to pass a Constitutional Amendment abolishing "Corporate Personhood".

Join Democracy Unlimited and the "Campaign to Legalize Democracy" on February 20th to design our community's actions to forward the national democracy movement and take control of our lives and our government. True social movements do not ask, "What is possible within the existing political and economic power systems?" The moment is here for Humboldt to fuel the national uproar, to state our goals clearly and boldly, to effectively organize ourselves for action, and to force the existing power structure to address us.

If you want to be part of the growing progressive grassroots rebellion that is tired of compromising before the fight even begins, join us Saturday, February 20th for this momentous, collaborative planning session for action.
